Experience Troncones
There is so much to do in Troncones – we can help you find options for surf lessons and board rentals, hiking or kayaking excursions, a tour of the natural hot springs and mineral mud baths - but you can choose to do absolutely nothing and simply lounge by the pool or on the beach.
Surfing
Troncones is a world renowned, year-round surfers’ paradise with empty beaches and breaks for all abilities. There are amazing waves for longboarders and shortboarders alike. Casa de la Costa can host your surf retreat because of our close proximity to Troncones Point, Playa Majahua, La Saladita, and The Ranch. Bring your board or rent from one of the many surf shops in the area.
Yoga
Get your “om” on at one of Troncones’ local yoga studios. Many offer classes in Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Restorative yoga. If you prefer to have a private session at the Casa, we can make arrangements for you.
Sport Fishing
Troncones is known for its offshore and inshore sport fishing for Sailfish, Rooster Fish, Dorado, Tuna and Marlin. Here you will find great fishing with experienced local guides at very affordable prices.
Horseback Riding
Troncones has local, professionally trained, friendly and beautiful riding horses. Walk, gallop, and cantor along the stunning beaches of Troncones, Manzanillo Bay and Majahua while enjoying a beautiful sunset.
Hiking & Biking
There are several marked trails for hiking or mountain biking in town. Cycling is also a great way to get around Troncones and Majahua. Bicycle rentals are available and we can arrange to have the bikes delivered to the Casa.
Kayaking & Eco Tours
Enjoy a relaxing experience paddling through La Boca estuary. Surrounded by lush vegetation, this river is home of many different species of wildlife. Our resident marine biologist, Alejandro Rodriguez Pruneda, shares his knowledge of nature as he guides you through the river. Not only is this an absolutely beautiful vacation activity, it is a must for bird watchers!
Turtle Release
Attending a baby sea turtle release is a once in a lifetime experience. Make a nominal donation and you will be able to uncover the baby turtles from a hatchery on the beach. It then takes about 30 minutes for the baby turtles to acclimate to life outside of the sand. At sunset, the baby turtles are brought down to the ocean edge and are released into the ocean as they follow the light of the setting sun.
Shopping
The shopping scene in Troncones gets better every year! As more shops open, you will find boutique gift shops featuring carefully curated arts and crafts that are made in Mexico; clothing, talavera, and locally made silver jewelry. Have fun browsing our local shops while you search for the perfect gift for yourself and the other special people in your life.
